In this performance and workshop series by Sangria Red, we are transported back to the Harlem of the 1930s as Dr. Dianne Edwards, an African-American doctor, is targeted and discriminated against by her own community for the darkness of her skin. As a result, she is stripped of her medical degree and career. The workshop culminates in a theatrical performance open to the public, "Strippin Down to Story."” Sex workers are invited to sign up for the workshop series where we will develop this ensemble event. "Whores' Bath," is a spa and healing event where sex workers from all of our communities can be pampered, pamper each other, and reclaim our role as healers. Our closing event, Whore's Bath will feature practitioners from various healing modalities from herbal treatments to massage to reiki, acupuncture and more, as well as tarot readers, food, a sauna and much more.
